The role of Culture in Placemaking

Insight Seminar
In association with Broadgate Estates
Thursday 15 June, 1530-1615 Seminar Room 3

Is culture and creativity essential for successful long-term places to thrive and flourish, or is it just a ‘nice-to-have’? How does space for creativity and culture add to a place, both for new pieces of city or existing ones? And what do we really mean today by ‘culture’ in the context of placemaking? How can cultural strategies be fully embedded into regeneration projects to ensure the best approach to placemaking is there from the start? How do we measure its value?
